I think I used the wrong word for “free” (no cost) and “meal”

Is 無料 and 食事 better?

＝今日はクッキーは無料です。

and i don't understand what you are trying to say about meal...sorry.

About meal, it is a condition/requirement (条件). The cookies are free but first you must buy a meal.

Maybe the way I try to say this sentence is strange.
