@wendgn23 why do you think so? Taiwan and china are two coutries. Why shall Taiwanese suffer from that damn china gov control?😑 I feel pity for you if you don't know that. Taiwanese young generation use instergram and Twitter too and I don't think weibo is popular here. ppl use weibo or wechat just bcz they have to but not bcz they want to.
People from China are not allowed to use Facebook and Line by their government. But in private they can use some internet tool (like vpn) to get pass the Great Firewall. So sometimes my Chinese friend still can use Facebook and Line.
@claire416 Viber is common here yes, but not really the most. I think Line, Viber, kAkaotalk, skype or instagram hold quite equal positions. I can just claim that FB is the most popular cuz it has everything. :)
A lot of Taiwanese don't really like things that have to do with China like QQ, Weibo, or WeChat. So not a lot of people will use it. In China people are sort of forced to use because Chinese government blocks all types of software not self produced by China. However in Taiwan there is more freedom they have the choice to use it if they want and most people will say no they won't use it
@kcathyun Taiwan haven't been official country before, at first it's just literally nomadic, then it's ruled by Netherlands before, then Japan, besides, the today Taiwan's first capitalist government known as "Kuomintang" is literally another from mainland China, so right after 1949, the Taiwan is literally already called "Republic of China", and if Kuomintang won, Taiwan will be still under China goverment control
