These are similar. Acting strange could be like someone is limping or hurt. They are acting strange because of some condition. Something could be wrong with them.
Acting weird, could mean you identified them as not normal. For example, they are dressed oddly and are wearing mismatched shoes.
He is holding his arm. He is acting strangley. Maybe he hurt his arm.
The class is acting weird. He is playing pranks to get attention.
