Question about English (US)

Hi everyone, I have just finished a short essay. Could anyone please read it and give me some comments?

Topic: In recent years there has been a decline in the number of different species of animals and plants. What are the causes and effects of this problem?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience. Write at least 250 words.

A few decades ago, tourists can encounter a lot of wild beasts in the tropical forests such as tigers, lions and apes, but nowadays, most of these species are in danger of extinction, which is the general state of various animals and plants. In this essay, I will explore the causes and effects of this problem.

To begin with reasons why this issue appears and become more and more serious. Firstly, the rapid widespread of industrial zones require a lot of land area to build companies and factories. So, deforestation happens seriously and to be out of control. As a result, animals lost their habitat, food resources and be caught by people. Secondly, animals and plants are killed harshly to serve people. To be specific, crocodiles’ skin is being used to produce wallet, handbag and shoes, deer heads turn out for luxurious decorations and whale has being harpooned to provide flesh for people. Besides, many kinds of valuable plants are cut down and no one cares to grow them.

Therefore, nowadays humanity is facing bad effects of this problem. First, people must confront severe natural disasters and there are several global phenomena such as global warming, green house effect and El Ninol. In addition, disappearance of precious animals and plants means the Earth lost valuable sources of DNA and biological balance, which is the most important to the existence of humanity. Albert Einstein mentioned that without bees, humanity be dead within a year or less.

If people do not act immediately, humanity would be go to the edge. The governments play extremely vital role in this case, because they can launch new laws to forbid and punish behaviours that decrease the number or quality of precious animals and plants directly or indirectly. On the other hand, education is an effective approach to solve the roots of this issue, because when people are aware of the importance of animals and plants to our life, they can help to protect these species as well.

In conclusion, people have responsibility to deal with the results that they made. The tardier we are, the more atrocious problems we have to face with.
