Halal butchers and even halal sections in supermarkets are quite common, France has a large North African population so there's a lot of demand.

I don't know that much about price, though, sorry, but I would not expect it to be too different.

It's actually easy.
There is a halal restaurant and several stores of halal food on each Big town. So in Paris you don't have to be worry about this.
And even in little town there are some specifical sections on store.

to speak about the cost. Personnaly I don't eat halal, but I think that the price it little bit more expensive than basic food. Not very much I think
