The film "E.T." was released in December 1982 in Japan. It became a huge hit, breaking Japanese box office records. There was a sequence in the movie where a ten-year-old boy has the alien wearing a Halloween costume and takes him out of his house and into the woods. It was very charming. It made an impression on the Japanese audience. This was the beginning of the Japanese people's knowledge about the American Halloween holiday. It is said that Halloween became more of an event in the mid-1990s. A major turning point was when Tokyo Disneyland held a Halloween festival in 1995.
There is a arcade downtown in my city. It is a typical shopping district in Japan. In the last ten years, many American-style shopping malls have sprung up in the suburbs of cities all over Japan, and the old downtowns have seen less customers. So the neighborhood committee of the downtown in my city holds frequent events to attract families on weekends and holidays. They also hold a Halloween festival every year. As a result, at this time of year, parents and children stroll through the arcade streets as if it were Disneyland. Last year it was not held because of the pandemic. I wonder if it will be held this year.

@dorami-09 Interesting!!! I wonder. Halloween is an excellent holiday, not just because of trick or treating, but also because of all the fun stories about witches and vampires and magical cats that are inspired by it, right? Also pumpkins!!! Do you celebrate Halloween in any way, Doraemon? Pumpkin carving?
Thank you!!!! 🐈🎃🐈⬛🍰

I am not very interested in such events and festivals. Even when I went to school, I didn't like sporting events and cultural festivals. They didn't bother me when I was in elementary school, but when I became a middle schooler, I started to feel uncomfortable at these school events. Maybe it's because I grew up to be an individualist for some reason.

@dorami-09 I suppose you have rather interesting characteristics, especially for a Japanese person. But they are perfect for you and you wouldn't be you without them!! ❤️❤️🐱🍰🎃
You know, one of the best ways to enjoy the Halloween season is to enjoy some pumpkin flavored snacks while reading fun stories with the smell of pumpkins spice and autumn leaves around you. Watching Halloween movies is also fun!! You don't have to go to events to have fun during Halloween!! 🐈🐈⬛

@SakuraNyanko You have also interesting characteristics, especially for an American girl. I like to climb the local low mountain (Oda Nobunaga's castle is on top of it) and ride my bike on the low mountain roads. I also enjoy reading and music. In short, I am not good at things that require working with others. Contemplation is fun. It doesn't cost money at all.
