A: contempt- to show scorn or a lot of anger, to think something or someone is not that important so you show anger towards it
dismissive - attitude you have with someone or something that's not important BUT not angry the way contemptuous is. dismissive is more similar to indifference.

He didn't seem to care about the birthday party and was very dismissive when I talked to him.

She hated that class and always showed a lot of contempt towards the teacher.

You can also say "she was contemptuous." But to be honest, contemptuous isn't a word I hear used commonly (more often used as contempt, at least to me. I'm in the U.S.A)
