「Immoral」の類語とその違い
Q:
immoral と unethical はどう違いますか?
A:
Immoral – actions which are contrary to standards of moral behaviour.
Unethical – actions which do not appear to be based in any reasonable ethical framework.
I'm afraid that it would be a very long discussion indeed, if we tried to discuss the difference between morals and ethics. I am personally not convinced that there is any difference between the two words, but in my country – and I'm sure that you have something similar in your country – this is the kind of thing that people argue about constantly.
In essence, morals and ethics are the guidelines that a person uses to decide what constitutes good behaviour.
Some people will say that morals are emotional or spiritual, while ethics are intellectual. I have never been able to understand how you separate these things.
Anyway, as I predicted, I have talked for a very long time without saying very much. Please let me know if there's anything else you don't understand 🙂
