    2. "Psst" is a sound usually used when you want to get someone's attention quietly and/or secretly. It's also rather informal so I don't recommend using it with strangers. Example: Joey and Tyler are two classmates studying in a quiet library. Joey leans over towards Tyler and whispers, "Psst, can I copy your homework?" "Excuse me" is also used to get someone's attention but it's not secretive and much more polite. Example: Arriving in a new city you might ask a local, "Excuse me, do you know where the X Hotel is?"
