「Slay」についての他の質問

Q: What does "slay" mean in "How to slay a first date" ?
A: slay is a slang term, usually used to mean you did something really well, like "you slayed that performance " or if someone is wearing a really nice outfit you would say that they are slaying that outfit.

the original meaning means to kill something you would say "he slayed a dragon"

so to say you "slayed a first date" means you had a really good first date
Q: Who did slay my dog? この表現は自然ですか?
A: Who killed my dog?
Q: what does "slay" mean? (slang)
A: To succeeded in something, to look good in something, or to dominate.

For example:
"You look good in that outfit, yass slay!! "
I think that's how they use it 😂😂😂
Q: You slay me ( after laughing) この表現は自然ですか?
A: Yes and it's popular slang too!
Q: You're going to slay the game! この表現は自然ですか?
A: I've never heard this usage (On the other hand, I'm old, so you never know! (笑)).

However, there is a different slang usage for "slay" (unlike the original meaning of "kill"), which means "to overwhelm/impress". It's usually used from the receiver's perspective, "you slay me" as opposed to from the slayer's perspective.

Ex:
A: So, the duck says, "just put it on my bill!"
B: hahaha, you slay me, man! (I'm overwhelmed with amusement at your funny joke).

Interestingly, though I would not say, "I slayed it!" when referring to do something well, "I killed it" does sound fine.
A: How did you do on last night's test?
B: I killed it! (I did exceptionally well.)

There may be age/regional differences, of course...
