(海崎)俺の反抗が こんなところで…
He said this after two co-workers just gave him a bunch of compliments for insulting their boss and quitting the company..
But I don't understand... What is the point of こんなところで here??

I guess, He felt kind of surprised at his resistance for the company praised by coworkers.

@aggiekaru Well they told him this while he happened to be at a funeral of one of the people from the company that committed suicide, which is the reason he quit in the first place..
When he says こんなところで is he talking about this happening randomly in a graveyard??
Also, I forgot to say that he said "俺の反抗が こんなところで…" in his head and he didn't actually speak that..

@JapaneseEnthusiast
is that excerption from relife?
l was so curious about it that I did web search.
I think, こんなところで means,
the funeral place is far from company, so he may just surprised at that he was mensioned about his quitting in distant place from the company...maybe.
And I also think, こんなところindicated someting bad for him, because it was funeral.
So, I feel a sense of regret from his saying.
Actually, I knew he said that in his head before you said.
It's very hard to explain...

@aggiekaru This is from relife. And thank you for your help. Sometimes Japanese is not meant to be translated completely anyway

@JapaneseEnthusiast
Yes, it is.
We can't explain those because they comes naturally from our custom and culture, not linguistics
