At least when I was a high school student there weren't any, but then again I lived in a small village in Eastern Finland (and it's been over 10 years since I graduated), so I don't know if things work differently now.

Not really. It's not common to schools to provide anything else than daily schooling. Sports clubs and such are different organisations and not connected to school system by any way

Not really. Finnish high school system focuses on getting 75 courses after which you can graduate. I’m in one of the biggest high schools in Finland and we have a wide selection of courses to choose from. Some courses require less from the students which is why you could consider them to be a club. As in you don’t get a grade and you might gather only once a week for two months. Then again there are mandatory lessons which you cannot skip and/or course work you have to complete.
So in a nutshell: I can’t see people staying voluntarily in school without getting a “course” out of it. (then again, my philosophy teacher holds a small debate and a movie club once every two weeks, but out of 50 teachers he is the only one who does that) :)
