Je ne parle qu’un petit peu français, car je l’étudie seulement depuis 3 semaines

Je ne parle que très peu français en raison du fait que je ne l’étudie que depuis trois semaines.

@Thomas_Sanfourche Est-ce que t’essaierais pas de me faire concurrence par hasard 😭 Et cette fois c’est ta version qui a le plus de mérite 😂

@Aurxliie@Thomas_Sanfourche wow, these are very different from what i constructed on my own which is "je seulement parle un peu français car j'ai seulement été étudie depuis 3 ans" lol can you tell me what's wrong here

Technically you could also say something like : "Je parle seulement un peu français, car j’étudie seulement depuis 3 semaines", which is closer to your first idea, i think :)
The point is, there is the repetition of the same adverb "seulement" here. That’s why finding another way to express this idea enables your sentence to sound a little bit better :)
Then, i also changed the tenses of your sentence for it to be more correct :)
But this is just my view, and i think you would have been understood by a french native speaker, because the idea was there :)
Ps : Be careful, cause in french the adverb goes after the verb, which is different from english i think :)
For example : i ONLY love sport = j’aime SEULEMENT le sport
I ALWAYS eat a lot = je mange TOUJOURS énormément
I NEVER sleep = je ne dors JAMAIS
Also, week is translated by semaine and year by an :)
I hope this can help :)

@Aurxliie so how do you express the phrase "i've only been studying" do you usually just use the present form?
