Verb + ro (ろ) is an imperative form.
Verb + te (て) is a form kudasai ( please) omitted.
So if woman says yamero, it will be look strange.

yamero is used more by male while yamete is universally used.
yamete kudasai ... please stop (it).
You cannot say yamero kudasai
