Question about Hebrew
Is there a way to differentiate between "I like (someone/something)" and "I love (someone/something)"? I know אני אוהבת means both, but if I wanted to say something like "I like him, but I don't love him" is there another verb I could use?

its really annoying but there isnt a really good way to say that in hebrew - you can say מחבבת which is the best way to say like "i like someone" and not "love" but i think that it still sounds a little bit "too much" sometimes, so there isnt really a good way to say that

the only missing thing here is the lack of new words in hebrew 😂😂 but really i read about it and english or german or french and etc has about 50000 - 70000 and hebrew has just 80000 so yes hebrew didnt develop a lot 😂😂

80000 words and still no difference between like and love? 🙄 there might be something about the meaning of love (or life in general) hidden here 😂

In case of "like", you can say:
הוא\היא מוצא\ת חן בעיניי - Hu/Hee (m/f) motze/t (m/f) khen be'eynay
Which literally means I find him/her to be pleasant/likable.
Or sometimes when people want to accentuate the depth or real meaning of the word, they just say it twice. So you can say:
אני אוהב\ת אותו\אותה, אבל לא (ממש) אוהב\ת אוהב\ת. - ani ohev/et (m/f) oto/ota (m/f), aval lo (mamash) ohev\et ohev\et.
Which basically says: I love X, but not really "love-love" X.

@L1arK i agree but i think that מוצא חן בעיניי is also kinda like love sometimes - i mean its not the same of course but sometimes it sounds like you "like - love" someone - at least in my opinion (and again im not saying that its always like that)
and the second thing - yes i agree, i just wasnt sure if to write it or not because maybe it will just make it more complicated and hard 😐😅
but yes overall i agree with you (and thats new (jk)) so צלש and חח 😇😂

@irokounadi yes but in that case i meant חח liks חיזוק חיובי - its like well done kindaaaa (i should have write it like ח"ח but i just wrote it without it because its faster)
- and צלש is ציון לשבח which is also kinda the same - its what you get in the military if you did something (like saved lifes or something like that) really good in a war (but really good) and then we use it also like "well done" - kindaaaaa im really not sure how to explain it but i hope that you can kinda understand what i meant

@noamm כן, I see, you explain it perfectly fine. For some reason I thought צלש (which I read as tsalash) meant something like cheers, don't ask me why, I've never seen it before 😂

and its actually kinda interesting to know what people are thinking when they are learning something because sometimes it can teach me about the language 😂😂
