Question about Malaysia
Selamat malam :)
I’m willing to visit Malaysia soon, so I happen to have couple of questions.
1- Do people in Malaysia understand Bahasa Indonesia? In fact, my bahasa is in a good level and I wonder to what extent Malaysians will get me.
2- What’s the local supermarket branch in KL that has good prices and goods and Malaysians prefer it themselves?
3- Whether I need to get a card for regular bus to get around KL or is cash acceptable as well? If card, can you please tell me where can I get it?
Terimakasih banyak :D

1. Some Malaysian understand Bahasa Indonesia. If you speak bahasa indonesian, maybe they can understand you a bit. I have an indonesian friend. Sometimes, when she talk to me, i couldn't figure out what she's trying to say because some of the terms are different from bahasa melayu. You can speak english in kl because it is understandable there.
2. I'm not sure about that because i'm not familiar with kl places.
3- Rapidkl bus.. maybe you could refer the link here

Selamat malam 😊
1) Yes we do understand a bit. But if it is hard to converse in Indonesian language, feel free to speak English. Many people understand it.
2) I used to stay in KL until early this year. If you tell me the area you go and what kind of goods you want to find, maybe I can suggest some.
3- Both card and cash are acceptable. But make sure you bring the correct amount of cash since bus drivers do not have the change. For card, you can buy Rapid card at LRT stations, or Touch n Go cards. You can go to the related websites to check more info since these cards have different kind of purposes.

@nara94 Thanks a lot for taking the time. The thing is I’m eager to brush up my Bahasa and learn Malaysian, so I thought maybe using just Bahasa Indonesia will help me to learn Malaysian words from locals...but yes I can never go wrong with English :D
The area that I’m gonna stay at is Ampong...I’m not familiar with it’s proximity but as I checked on map it’s near the KLCC and twin towers.
Terimakasih lagi yaa😄

1. we understand most of indonesian language, but some of indonesia language are diffrent example :
kamar kecil = tandas
engak bisa = tidak mahu , tanak , tidak
mas = encik
mbak = pak cik
mobil = kereta
2 . I about To recommand the best supermarket in ampang but its just close. so anyways near klcc have one supermarket call "Quil City Mall","lulu hypermarket" and "sogo"
3 . We use Card And Money for public transpot if you using a bus use a card and also a apps call "rapid" but if you are using a LRT/MRT/Monorail use money buy it on machine or counter.
in this case card/apps is better.
dont forget to go to kampung Baru and also bukit nenas
