A little unnatural
I need to stay in practice with my English, or else my skills become rusty.
Rusty is a term which means out-of-use, and English-speakers often use it to describe some skill that they are beginning to lose due to lack of practice. This is not exactly what you wrote, but I am giving you a suggestion only. Hope it helps!
