Sadly I don’t know much about Japanese friendships, but generally the British are seen to be a little less chatty and forwards and we see Americans as a little over sharing sometimes. All in all the differences are reasonably small, but it’s worth remembering that the US is so large in comparison to Britain it’s hard to compare. The U.K. is smaller than California, and so you can expect a huge variety you can’t categorise in the US.
The US also adapts the English language slightly, so there will be linguistic differences between the groups. British friendships are generally slower to get going but are equally close.

Thank you for getting back to me.This is interesting to see.
For us,it would take time to be friends with someone new. maybe It'll take more than a couple of months to get close and ask for going out, chilling together, having dinner etc, however once we get closer,we tend to care about the friendship forever and be able to talk what is really on our minds.
We usually see Americans more energetic, super friendly, approchable and easier to become close.
Most of us avoid saying things like " I like you"or " I love you." to our girl friends when our friendship is still new and seem to be not trustworthy enough to share many personal things. It depends on the situation or time does'nt matter sometimes but usually it takes a year or much more to be able to say that.

I like most of Americans I have met, too.
What surprised me first was that
they came to like me very quick lol and saying super nice or sweet compliments very fast, which we don't say that quickly.
It made me flattered, however there was a part of me who felt like, are you saying this to anyone?so what are your real words?
"are you just being a bit too emotional?"
for example,it takes time for us to say " I miss you! I want to see you sometime soon!" to our friends.we say things like this but it just needs much more time.

It is lovely that they can be so open.
We don't do this so we could be more under stress.
that's why there are so many sarcasms produced in our conversation, once we became best friends. We often enjoy saying jokes, funny humors and sarcasms, which we avoid saying to people who are not yet close :)

@Miki_J it is, though I find it intuitively a little invasive. I’m happy to stay as we are though the US can sometimes wear on me

I was just wondering why they can be so close to new people..
phrases like 'I miss you so much.'or 'I love you.' sound really responsible and heavy to me so I can't say that easily..I would want to be more responsible and need more time to know people.

@Miki_J I’m sure it’s just a cultural difference, though I’m not the correct person to ask!

I didn't realise the differences before, until I've got to know some British and American people.I just couldn't since they are both english native speakers.

it just happened by chance.
I didnt choose the people who are vegetarians lol
I like eating roast dinner..
but it's great that they have such many choices to eat as a vegetarian.
We live in a beach town near Tokyo and often have a BBQ party while making a bonfire on the beach with our childhood mates so it'd be kind of impossible for us to avoid meat here in the town💦
