ไม่ mai is no
เปล่า pao is one way of refuse too

เปล่า is speaking language, informal
you can say เปล่า in meaning no, do nothing
ex. I don't do anything = เราเปล่านะ = เราไม่ได้ทำนะ
and เปล่า can use in question too
ex. Q - เธอทำรึเปล่า do you do this?
A - เปล่า เราไม่ได้ทำ no, I don't.
