“To make them sit” means you forced them to sit. “To have them sit” sounds more like a suggestion (kind of like “please sit”). “To get them to sit” is kind of more like statement: I got them to sit.

make them sit and get them to sit sound like commands or demands, and they both sound rude to me.
have them sit sounds more polite.
After giving it a little more thought, there are some situations where using "make" and "get" won't sound rude. With that said, I still wouldn't risk sounding rude or demanding, so I'd probably use "have" in most situations.

To "make them sit" is like... you're not giving that person a choice.
To "get them to sit" is still a demand, but is less... demanding.
And to "have them to sit" is more polite, kind or they ARE giving you a choice.
