Situation:
I baked one of my friends some cookies. I thought she would like them, but her first words were "I don't like cookies." I was stunned.

Question:
I wanted to write an English sentence about the incidence. Could you tell me if my sentence is good enough?

My sentence:
She just looked beyond my act of kindness and she complained about what I gave to her.
