Situation:
I baked one of my friends some cookies. I thought she would like them, but her first words were "I don't like cookies." I was stunned.
Question:
I wanted to write an English sentence about the incidence. Could you tell me if my sentence is good enough?
My sentence:
She just looked beyond my act of kindness and she complained about what I gave to her.
Thank you!

the only thing I would change is "gave her" instead of "gave to her". Everything else sounds great!

There's actually an idiom about situations like this. "She looked a gift horse in the mouth."

@Deanu @NordicRest Wow! Thank you for the comments. You guys are awesome! I learned a lot: "give her" and ""she looked a gift horse in the mouth". I was really surprised to know that "look beyond" is OK. I thought the phrase was wrong in the situation.
