i would say no. well people can be generous on ya since youre a foreigner. but when you learn a foreign language, you are supposed to learn how you speak to a person you just met or you do not know and in that case people use polite forms even in Germany france and spain.

Ah, I see. But I'm going to Korea next month and I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick up the language in time. 😫😫

well if you are unsure about your language, just put 요 at the end of every sentence like
나 오늘 삼겹살 먹었어-impolite form
나 오늘 삼겹살 먹었어요-polite form
