Question about Korean

when I go to a Korean market here in the US, I say 안녕하세요, and when saying thank you I just say 감사합니다. How else can I greet people without maybe looking like a fool lol Should I just speak english then? I am trying to be polite, since I don't have enough vocabulary yet
