Secundaria is compulsory, it's 4 years, and students are usually 12-16 years old.
Bachillerato is the next level. It's not compulsory, it's 2 years and students are usually 16-18 years old.
Before secundaria we have primaria; after Bachillerato we have University or other types of higher education.

In Argentina we go to secundaria when we are 12 years old until we are 17, and after that comes university. Bachillerato does not exist here.
