See the two pronunciations in the above link, in case I am mis-hearing. Are they different pronunciations of the same word? The same spelling, but different meanings?

it's
مَصْرَف و مَصْرِف
look
it's completely different
I 'm not sure if u can understand me
how do I explain this..
the first one is something that existed in streets on the floor so the water won't stay in the street
it takes the water inside it
the second one is
Bank
Arabs usually use the same word in English 'Bank' instaed of saying
مَصْرِف
- Arabic Near fluent
it's ْمَصْرَف not َمَصَرَف
مَصْرَف = Water drainage channel
مَصْرِف = bank

@HAN_YOUL Thank you! I know it must have been hard to explain, but I understand 100%. مَصْرَف is a "street gutter", right?
So it is more common to say بنك than it is to say مصرف? Very good to know :) Is this true in most Arab countries?

not
مصرف

@lEunoia
I understand
actually it's not outdated at all!!!!
we use bank in dialects and accents
but we use masref in fosha
so it's not outdated
if u know Arabs very well u will know that original Arabic is the best to them

@HAN_YOUL Your are right. Instead of outdated, I think "uncommon" would be a better word. In my country مصرف is used a lot for Exchange companies.
