I think for "aimer," it's more of just using the normal version of the noun, instead of "some" (du/de la).
ex) J'aime la confiture. Tu aimes les pommes. Il aime l'arbre.
"Du/de la" is used to show "some."
I would like some cheese.
J'aimerais du fromage.
I would like some water.
J'aimerais de l'eau.
Yet you don't need to use this for this verb, since you can also say:
I would like the cheese.
J'aimerais le fromage.
I would like the water.
J'aimerais l'eau.

Why is the second one incorrect? How can I know what kind of verbs use "du" or "le"? Thanks in advance @akaMusa01:
