They are both correct. I think Marcus's is considered more formal though

They are both correct, (neither one is more formal), but I think Marcus' and Lucas' looks better.

Hmmmm so I got curious and looked it up. According to the. Wikipedia article on English possessives, for plural nouns 's is better for singular it doesn't matter, but 's is recommended by the Chicago Manual of Style.

It's actually pretty controversial in America. Where I live, I've been taught my whole life that it should be s' but other places say it should be 's. It really doesn't matter which one you use though.

Even being fluent in English, I'm unsure. I've met teachers that didn't even know for sure. While there is probably an official answer, in casual English, its highly debated.
Marcus'/Lucas' looks more natural to me.

If it ends with a s, then you put the ' at the end. If it doesn't end with an s, then you put the ' at the end and add s
- Country or region United States
if it ends with an S then no extras S
If it ends in any other letter, then add an s
Examples:
No “ ‘s ”
James’ dog
Lucas’ piano
“ ‘s ”
Patty’s cat
Peter’s car

I was always taught growing up that any names and nouns that end in S in singular have the ending apostrophe to show possession, ie. Chris’ house, the octopus’ tentacles. And any names or nouns that end in vowels and all other consonants end in ‘s, ie. John’s house, the squid’s tentacles.
