How to say the hour in french?
Hi! I'm learning how to say the hour in french but I am a bit confused.
One of my question is, for example:
it is 15:00h.
do you really say "il est quinze heure"
or you say "il est trois heure"(du l'après midi)
which is correct? or can I say both?

it is 8h40
"il est huit heures quarante"
or
"il est neuf heures moins vingt
both are correct?

Il est une heure (du matin / du soir) OU il est treize heure
Il est deux heures / trois heures /etc.
Il est cinq heures et demi.
Il est neuf heures et quart.
Il est dix heures moins cinq.
Il est huit heures vingt.

@selakant so"il est quinze heure" is better than "il est trois heure"(du l'après midi) more natural, ok I got it i think, It's just that it sounds kind of odd for me lol thank you for helping me n.n
