Question about United States
How do you usually call a person who likes to stay at home or simply stays at home all the time? I’ve heard the word “homebody” once but I’m not sure if this word is very common or sounds naturally

Personally, I use the expression "house bum" to casually refer to anyone that frequently stays home and is unproductive all day.
"Homebody" is still appropriate too and in slight contrast doesn't mean a person who stays in their house all day is unproductive or lazy.

Homebody is used a lot. Introvert/introverted can also be used, it’s a personality type. Introverts like their alone time and the home most likely ties into that. Introvert means more than just staying home though.
For someone who is lazy and stays home/ on the couch a lot you can call them a couch potato (that one can be a little rude though depending on who you’re speaking to.)

@kitmarie0102 I use homebody most often because it’s not insulting to most people. I would describe myself as a homebody, I don’t sit at home all day but I like downtime and relaxing in my house rather than going out all the time or being in social situations a lot.

@xomaiah1xo I feel pretty much the same. Sometimes I really feel like hanging out somewhere, sometimes I don’t. One of those days at home are really beneficial, especially when I use HiNative, because now I know a few words to describe myself today😁 Vielen Dank für die Erklärung

@kolstadmagnus it’s English language section. Anyway, thanks, I doubt that I’ll use this word anywhere since I don’t learn Norwegian but who knows😂👌
