In case someone acts wrongly but should know better, you can tell them that they should stop pretending that they don't know any better.
The boy didn't take his jacket with him when it was cold out side. His mother told him that he knows better and that he should stop pretending to not know which clothes to wear.

No it does not, but it would make sense if you said: stop pretending to yourself!
