Question about Japanese

でも りゆうも なく なみだ が でる なんて、 いちど おじさん に みて もらったら。 "Crunchyroll translates this to "But if you're crying for no reason, why not let your Dad check you over?"

Is it necessary to include "なみだ が でる なんて"? Can't you just use "なく なんて" short form? No tears were mentioned in the crunchyroll translation. I guess this was left out to keep the subtitles short? Also is I thought おじさん was for uncle or old man? Is this just a nother way to say Dad as well? Thanks.
