Dzisiaj w języku polskim bardzo rzadko używa się słowa "zaś", częściej slyszy się "za to" lub "natomiast".

tego słowa nie używa się już często w mowie potocznej... na przykład Zostawił to na zaś czyli na później ... On miał rację, zaś inni nie....w tym przypadku jest to spójnik łączący dwa zdania

np. Twój argument jest średni natomiast mój jest świetny
