What type of jobs would be most convienent for a foreigner in japan to work as to support living expenses (food, clothes, rent, everyday life etc) in Japan (thats not an english teacher)?

Assuming you already have a visa which allow you to work part time and Japanese language skill under business level, the only choice would be teaching English.
If you have JLPT N2 or above you will be able to apply for position as a professional in your fields.
