Question about English (UK)
Could you tell me please if "a pupil" (= someone who is being taught, especially a child) is STILL a common word in UK English, especially we speak about primary school?
As far as I know, US English only uses "a student" regarding schoolchildren
Thank you!

In the UK it's still used very often for younger people.
"Student" is typically used for high school or university. "Pupil" is used for primary school children.
