How do you say this in French (France)? In English "a takeaway" is "the main idea, message or piece of information that you learn from something you read or heard." I am quite confident that we have a word in French to express that however I can't think of it right now. Any help?

"A takeaway", quand on parle de l'idée principale d'un texte se traduit normalement par :
"un point essentiel", "un point-clé" ou encore "un point à retenir". Mais généralement, en français, on va préférer une périphrase telle que "ce qu'il faut retenir" ou "la conclusion à en tirer".
