Yes. Don't people in every language sometimes use informal language and make mistakes?

@nurazizahhasanah19 Oh. That's where it gets complicated. Regional ways of speaking are often "incorrect" if "correct" is academic language. "Ain't," "youse," etc. It can make it difficult to learn, I imagine.

😅 I see, i found this on someone's status of Facebook. I wondered, she was from the US but why she wrote it that way😅

@nurazizahhasanah19 It's a common way of speaking, but people who speak that way will still understand you just fine if you speak the English you are taught.

almost everyone makes grammatical errors in their native language. i see it all the time with french as well; it just happens. people often mix up “your” and “you’re” in written language, and we’ll make a few errors in spoken language, mostly for the sake of making things flow better
however, saying “we was” is not necessarily an error, but likely just a dialectal difference. something like that would be occasionally said in southern english, and it’s commonplace in a collection of dialects that we call AAVE or Ebonics. so it’s not standard, but not an error. however there is some prejudice against these dialects, and they’re seen as “uneducated” or “incorrect.” that’s not really true, and i would like for you to know that, but it’s recommended that you learn the standard just because it’s easier and more “accepted”

@nurazizahhasanah19 southern english is just the english that is spoken in the southern states of the US, such as texas, tennessee, mississippi, louisiana, and so on. their dialects are easily distinguishable from standard american english
AAVE stands for “african american vernacular english,” and ebonics is an alternate name for this. this is the name for the dialects spoken by black people in the US. it’s an extremely distinct set of dialects, because the grammar itself is a bit different from standard english, and many slang words have originated from it
i know this simply because these dialects are well known. AAVE has become widespread in popular culture, particularly because of rap music (and other influential aspects of black culture). southern english is a very recognizable dialect, everyone is familiar with it. as well, i myself am mixed race and i currently live in the US south, so i am often exposed to them. due to stereotypes they are both considered to be improper, uneducated, etc

@aliyakrushnic ooh a big thanks for you. You taught me a lot, really. I've just know all of this.
So this is not a grammatical error, right. It's just the dialect

@nurazizahhasanah19 it's a little bit of both grammatical errors and regional dialects of sorts. The US has many different races cultures language traditions etc so we get alot of practice in tolerance compare to other homogeneous country that rarely have these issues but we strive to meet in common grounds and the type of english taught in schools helps alot.

Some people do it on purpose to be funny, but others simply just don’t know due to poor education. I think it’s that way in most languages
