It depends on the context, but these words aren't really the same.
▪I'm an anime geek = I know A LOT about anime and/or it's a hobby of mine and I'm really crazy about it.
▪I'm an anime freak = I am obsessed with anime (but this could be in a bad and unhealthy way.)
Both can mean the person knows a lot about a certain subject. But individually:
▪He's a geek = a nerd/dork/loser or someone who's super smart and/or knowledgeable.
▪He's a freak = he's a pervert or disgusts me OR he's into sexual stuff and I do like it.
Both can be seen as negative or positive depending on the person.
