alzar: es para alzar algo
Por ejemplo yo alzo mi maletín del piso
Levantarse: ese USA mas para personas
Por ejemplo ella quiere levantarse del piso

Levantarse se refiere a la acción de alguien, por ejemplo:
"Me levanté de la silla"
Alzar se refiere a levantar algo, es decir, que tú u otra persona levantaron algo.
"alzó la mochila"
La primera se refiere a u a acción completa del cuerpo y la segunda va relacionada con el objeto.
Esa sería la diferencia aunque en muchas ocasiones se usan de la misma manera y llegan a tener el mismo significado.

Normalmente levantar se usa tanto para la persona que habla como para la acción sobre objetos. Alzar se usa generalmente para los objetos
