Another jokey quote. It compares knowledge with the application of knowledge (i.e. wisdom). Tomatoes are not strictly vegetables as everyone assumes. They are fruit. However, generally you wouldn't put tomatoes in a fruit salad (which is a dessert containing fruit and berries).
