我个人是觉得不一定。虽然很多中国人对世说新语很耳熟，那是因为在学校的时候老师有讲过。但我碰到不少不知道世说新语是关于三国魏晋时期的名人轶事的书的好大学的大学生。很多人会把时代搞混。对于一般老百姓来说，比较有名的书还是史记(史书)，三国演义(历史小说)，西游记(神话小说)这种。
如果你跟中国朋友说世说新语对方可能知道这本书但不一定知道里面有什么典故。
