Not too common, except maybe in sports, but it can be used to express doing consistently well in almost anything.
"I aced my last three exams. I'm on fire!"
"He scored five times in a row. He's on fire!"
- Japanese
Thank you for your easily-understandable answer! Is this expression often used in sports? Can you use this phrase in every situation?
- English (US)
I would say it is not used too often, but it is more common in sports because it refers to a winning streak (many victories without losing). It can be used in most situations if they fit this description.
