when you want to stess the destination (where) you have tu use the auxiliary "essere", while if your aim is to emphasize the action of running, the right auxiliary is "avere". So you can't say "ho corso giù di sotto" but for example "ho corso per un'ora"(i have run for one hour). Spero possa essere utile!
