How do you say "I have *something*"? Im confused because sometimes they use ".... o motte imasu" and sometimes they use ".... ga arimasu". Can someone explain me the difference?

-ga arimasu and -wo motte imasu can be used to express “I have X.” We sometimes avoid “motte imasu,” not to be taken boasting like “hey I have it for you now, isn’t it great!?”
But the difference is not that big, do not mind too much.
