What is the difference between Дать and Давать ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

Hi, I wanted to write down the declension of the two words but Wiktionary seems to only give future and past tense for дать and not present (I am so far barely scratching the surface of verbs in the present tense). There is present, past and future declension for давать - the questions is: is дать not used in the present tense, should I substitute it with давать in the present tense?
Example: I give you a cat (I am giving you a cat) > я даю вам кошку (not sure about the case either 🙄)
I'm really lost right now 😔

давать - несовершенный вид
The differens is the same with word "делать" (давать) and "сделать" (дать).

Я даю вам кошку / кота. ("даю" 1 лицо настоящее время of "давать").

As I see, you're fluent in Polish. Well, that's weird that you can't understand what is the difference between them 🤷‍♂️

@Oleksiej guess you didn't read my question fully, this is exactly why I'm having this problem. In polish there is no present tense from dawać. We take the present tense from the dać > ja daję, not from dawać (would be "ja dawam" but this is not a real word), in fact, in polish this is just considered to be one word that has a "finished" (dać) and "unfinished" (dawać) versions, and in Russian it seems to be that the present tense comes from dawać (Я даю). Are you able to evaluate this topic?
