How do I know where's the stress of the word "monsoon" without referring to the IPA ?
Is it 'mon/soon or mon/'soon ?
I think both sound acceptable for me, but after checking its IPA I know the later one is correct. So I wonder how native English speakers know where the stress is.

yea I just kinda know... maybe I heard it in the past and my brain just retained that knowledge without having to practice 🤔
I'm not a native speaker but I've been studying English my whole life, I consider myself fluent + I lived in the US and now work with English on a daily basis 😊 and yes English speaking kiddos make all kinds of mistakes, whether it's placing the stress in a word or overall pronunciation of a word
