Pessoal, não é meio estranho dizer "tinha tido"?
Tipo, "tem tido/tenho tido" são gramaticalmente corretos, mas "tinha tido" me soa estranho. sla!
Ao invés de "tinha tido" — em conversa formal —, eu usaria "havia tido".

Não, está perfeitamente correto.
Tenho tido é um tempo verbal.
Havia sido e tinha sido são variantes de outro mesmo tempo verbal (plusquamperfekt).

Havia tido é uma versão mais "do registro escrito" ou "formal" de tinha tido.
Não há nada de errado com "tinha tido" não...
"Tenho tido" e "tinha tido". Ambos estão corretos. São apenas tempos verbais diferentes.

Ah, sim. Só curiosidade. É porque o "alemão" apareceu antes do "português" no seu perfil. Por isso achei que fosse um alemão aprendendo português. Já ia fazer umas perguntas cabeludas sobre alemão hahaha

Para mim, não soa estranho na escrita porque já estou acostumado com algumas locuções verbais que não se diz comumente no dia a dia. Mas na fala, é incomum dizê-lo, realmente.
Como já falaram anteriormente, "tinha tido" e "havia tido" estão no pretérito mais-que-perfeito (em sua forma composta), então sua forma simplificada seria "tivera". :)
"Tinha/havia sido" também está no pretérito mais-que-perfeito composto, então sua forma simplificada seria "fora"(verbo ser), então não acho adequado dizê-lo no lugar de "tinha/havia tido".
