For someone with a b2 French, I don't understand Canadian French. I understand all the other French (Swiss and African French are actually slower than France french but kind of the same). For the few things I understood I would say to me it sounds worse. it sounds like a drunk French farmer a century or so ago to me 😂 A instead of E sounds and hard Rs, when French people normally can't pronounce a hard R. for example instead of frère I hear frARRRR. Also they skip to English every time they want to swear, they just swear in English, even though there are way more swear words in french than in English

Canadian french is really close to the french french. in my opinion the difference is mostly a question of pronunciation. Canadian also use some old french words which are not used in current speaking in France.
