Why Finnair is called "finski"? Is it used much nowadays or is it more archaic, or used only in some dialects? Where does it come from?

It's just a nickname. Our words tend to get really long, so we often like to shorten them in speech. Like:
korvis -> korvakoru = ear ring
makkari -> makuuhuone = bed room
finski -> finnair
