There isn't much of a difference, the only difference is the word

@Apolo84 similar. Slipped is probably better. Slip is related to slippery, like as if your hand lacked friction, as if it had oil or water on it. Not literally, but that is the imagery. Slid comes from slide, which implies a sloped decline. Like a slide.
