That sentence is more like "did it anyway" (そんなことはお構いなしである).
It's a different use of anyway, meaning "regardless".
Like: "She knew it was dangerous, but she did it anyway."
Does that make sense?

I would say: "A while ago she said 'stay the same,' but now she is asking me to change."
It sounds more natural.
I was taught "anyway" = とにかく.
Sometimes it serves the same purpose as "even though".
For example:
雨が降っていたが、私たちはとにかく公園に出掛けた。 = "It was raining, but we went to the park anyway." It could also be "We went to the park even though it was raining."
I hope that helps.

I see. Thank you for the explanation. :)
How about this sentence? I think it cannot to translate into as "とにかく" though.
"She complained about her weight but ate the cake anyway."
